These terms govern your use of Laika — the Laika app and trylaika.com. They are an agreement between you and Laika ("Laika", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Laika, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Laika.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. It is part of these terms.

1. Who can use Laika

• You must be 18 or older.
• You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure — you are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One account per person. Do not share your account or use someone else's.

2. What Laika is — and what it is not

Laika is an AI assistant for pet care. It answers questions about your pet, keeps your pet's record, and reminds you about care. It uses artificial intelligence, and its answers are generated from what you share and from general knowledge.

Laika is not a veterinarian, and it does not provide veterinary diagnosis or treatment.

• Using Laika does not create a relationship between you and a veterinarian.
• Laika can be wrong. It can misunderstand what you tell it, miss something important, or give information that is incomplete or out of date. Use your own judgement, and check anything important with a vet.
• For medications and doses, always follow your veterinarian's instructions.
• In an emergency, contact a vet or an emergency animal hospital immediately. Do not rely on Laika. Laika may be unavailable at any moment — including when a usage limit has been reached (section 4) or during an interruption (section 8).

You are responsible for decisions about your pet's care.

3. Early access

Laika is in early access.

• Features may change, be added or be removed.
• Laika is free during early access. We may introduce paid plans in future. If we do, we will tell you in advance, and you will never be charged without your explicit agreement.

4. Fair-use limits

To keep Laika available to everyone, usage is subject to limits — for example, on how much Laika can do for one account in a day or a month. When a limit is reached, Laika is unavailable for that account until the limit resets, including work Laika does in the background such as reminders and record upkeep. We may change these limits at any time.

5. Your content

"Your content" means what you put into Laika — messages, your pet's information, photos, videos, documents and recordings.

• You own your content.
• You give us permission to store, process and display your content only to provide and improve Laika for you, as our Privacy Policy describes. This permission ends when you delete your content or your account, except as needed to complete deletion or meet legal requirements.
• Share only what you have the right to share. Do not upload other people's personal information without their permission.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell Laika. Laika's answers depend on it.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

• break the law, or use Laika to harm any person or animal;
• upload anything unlawful, harmful, abusive, or that infringes someone else's rights;
• access Laika by automated means — bots, scrapers or scripts — or attempt to overload or disrupt it;
• copy, reverse engineer or attempt to extract Laika's software, systems or models;
• try to get around security, usage limits or access controls;
• impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your relationship with anyone; or
• resell or provide Laika to others without our permission.

7. Laika's property

Laika — its app, website, software, design, name and brand — belongs to us and is protected by law. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Laika as intended. They do not give you any other right to our property.

8. Availability

We work to keep Laika running, but Laika is provided "as is" and "as available." It may be interrupted, delayed or changed, and it may contain errors. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that Laika will always be available, error-free or suited to any particular purpose.

9. Third-party services

Laika may point you to, or connect you with, services provided by others. Those services are governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from decisions made in reliance on Laika's answers; and
• our total liability to you for any claim relating to Laika is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Ending your use

• You can stop using Laika at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to support@trylaika.com.
• We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if required by law, or to protect Laika or its users. Where reasonable, we will tell you first.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Laika after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the courts of Gurugram, Haryana, India.
