The problem
An animal hides what hurts.
By the time you can see it, it has been going on for weeks.
That is not cruelty, it is arithmetic — a limping animal in the wild is a dead animal, so they are built to say nothing. Which leaves the owner watching for something the animal is actively hiding, and a vet trying to reconstruct nine months from what somebody remembers in the waiting room.

That Contains line is the whole trick. Most conversations need no file reads at all, because the index already says what is inside.
Cases
Laika runs investigations,
not searches.
A suspected toxin is a six-hour case with check-ins every thirty minutes. A suspected food allergy is an eight-week case with check-ins every two days. A limp since yesterday is seventy-two hours, then it closes or it escalates. Nothing about that is a template — Laika reasons the shape of each case from the biology and then keeps to it without being reminded.

↑ 0.14 → 0.46 · Both flares followed a bag opened more than three weeks earlier.
And when six weeks turn up nothing, it says so — with what it ruled out and what a vet should test next. An agent that always finds an answer is an agent that makes one up.
The LAIKA Pet ID
One identity,
for his whole life.
Issued once and permanent. It moves with him between vets, cities and owners, and everything Laika knows hangs off it — the record, the open cases, the vaccination history, the photographs from two years ago that turn out to matter.
Most animals have no continuous record at all. Their history is scattered across three clinics, a WhatsApp thread and somebody’s memory. That is the thing worth fixing first.
